What is Toasted Timber ?

Toasted timber is thermally modified timber, natural wood that has been enhanced through a controlled process using only heat and steam - no chemicals.

This method changes the wood at a cellular level, making it more stable, more durable, and better suited to long-term use, especially in challenging environments.

How It's Made

The timber is placed into a specialised kiln, where it undergoes three key stages:

Drying: The wood is gently heated to remove moisture.

Thermal Modification: The temperature is raised to approximately 160-230°C, altering the timbers structure using only heat and steam.

Cooling & Conditioning: The timber is slowly cooled, and a small amount of moisture is reintroduced to improve workability.

This natural transformation improves the timber's performance by reducing its ability to absorb water, enhancing its resistance to decay, and giving it a rich, warm brown tone that runs throughout the entire piece.

250 Lineal meters covers an estimate of 35 square meters. Double that amount when a 500 lineal meter pack is purchased.
